A Walgreens team member since 2001, Heather Hughes is currently the Group Vice President, General Merchandise Manager for the Consumables, Seasonal and Photo division. She is responsible for leading the transformation of the company’s seasonal program, maintaining Walgreens position as the retail market share leader for Photo services in the U.S., and creating the ultimate convenient destination for grocery fill-in and instant consumption essentials. Heather was named as one of the 50 most influential women in retail by Mass Market Retailers (MMR) in 2020 and 2021.

Before joining Walgreens, Heather earned her bachelor of science degree in pharmacy from Butler University in 1999. She then held several positions in Pharmacy Operations at Walgreens, including pharmacy management. Starting in 2004, Heather began her career in Merchandising at Walgreens, holding various roles in Health and Wellness merchandising. In 2018, Heather joined with women leaders in the retail and healthcare industries as a founding member of WE.
